Ontario To Include Pancreatic Cancer Coverage For Firefighters

Friday, March 3, 2023

The Globe and Mail has reported the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board will now recognize pancreatic as a presumptive cancer for Ontario firefighters. Claims will also be retroactive to Jan 1, 1960, which we hope will bring closure to the many family members affected by this disease.

PCC has been working with the OPFFA and other firefighting associations for over a year to raise awareness on pancreatic cancer symptoms, the increased risk firefighters face, and to expand this direly needed coverage.
