Earlier this year, we launched our community survey to answer a critical question: How effectively are we serving the needs of our community? Over 500 patients, caregivers, donors, and advocates responded. We are deeply grateful for your honesty, your willingness to share deeply personal stories, and your guidance on where we are succeeding and where we need to focus our efforts.

Here is a summary of what you told us and how your feedback is guiding our work:

The Urgency of Early Detection  
Nearly 75% of survey respondents have lost a loved one to pancreatic cancer. Many shared painful memories of navigating diagnoses during the isolation of COVID-19 restrictions, losing family members without the chance to say goodbye in person, and shouldering the heavy load of caregiving with limited options. Your stories reinforce what this community knows to be true: we urgently need better diagnostic tools to detect this cancer earlier when it is still treatable. Demanding More Research Updates  
Almost 90% of respondents identified research progress as the content you value most. Moving forward, we are expanding our communications to bring you regular, transparent updates on emerging research, clinical trial developments, targeted therapies, and where the science is heading next.

Improving Awareness of Patient Programs  
Over 72% of respondents had not heard of our core support services, such as Ask an Expert, peer support, or grief counseling. Many shared that they wished they had known about these resources during their own journey. No one should face this disease alone; we are actively overhauling our outreach so patients and families are connected to our programs at the exact moment of diagnosis. Expanding Our Scale Across North America  
75% of respondents agree that expanding o Pancreatic Cancer North America (PCNA) will accelerate research. For Canadian community members who asked what this transition means locally: our commitment to patients, healthcare providers, and research initiatives in Canada remains a top priority. Expanding across the border gives our organization greater scale, stronger collaborative opportunities, and a bigger impact for everyone affected by pancreatic cancer.
